Through these figurative narratives, I aspire to create a space for contemplation, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the transformative power of the feminine experience.
I began to explore portrait painting in November of 2021 in response to a studio plan for graduate school. It started with one portrait then quickly turned into 33 portraits by February. On March 24th I had a Solo show exhibiting the pieces at the Boyd Gallery. the original beloved girls are all featured on this page, some have found homes others would love to be yours. As I kept working in the series, they began to have floral headpieces. The newest girls all have luscious floral arrangements garnishing their heads symbolizing new growth and radiant beauty.
